Universal Human Needs

We all feel needy sometimes. It’s part of being human. And there are times when we all feel deficient. Whether we lack basics such as food and shelter, feel like we’re not enough, want more recognition or love — needs are much deeper than desires and our evolutionary path means we’re programmed to meet them.

So rather than fight these impulses, or meet  them in compulsive and destructive ways, we can consider how to fulfil our needs in a neutral or healthy manner. We can also contemplate how we can help meet the needs of those we hold dear.

In his later writings, American psychologist Abraham Maslow identified eight universal human needs. Inspired by this work, author Tony Robbins subsequently developed his own model; after working with about three million people around the world, he recognised six needs we all share.  We’ll explore these in this free introductory workshop.
